How I Made My Laptop into a Portable Whiteboard

This is a complete guide on how you can turn your laptop into a portable whiteboard so that you can have access to a whiteboard wherever you go. It looks great even when the whiteboard is not being used.Laptop Whiteboard in a Coffee Shop

Step 1. Materials and measurements

I'm using a 15 inch MacBook case ($18) and a 45cm x 200cm Whiteboard Sticker ($13) from Amazon. The measurements of the MacBook case is 36.1cm x 25.1cm.

Step 2. Mark the cutting area

I decided to cut the whiteboard into 35cm x 24cm to make a black border around the whiteboard.

Step 3. Cut the whiteboard sticker

Paper trimmers are available for free in major print shops. I'm using one from Staples.

Step 3 Tip. Details

Make sure to trim the edges to your exact measurements. As you can see in the picture, the factory cut is off by around 2mm.

Step 4. Round corners

The whiteboard sticker is now ready to be applied but first, let's make the corners round to match the MacBook case.

Step 4 Tip. Trace the corners

Trace the corners with a pencil using the Macbook case.

Carefully cut the corners along the traced lines using a pair of scissors.

Step 7. Apply the whiteboard sticker

Align and apply the whiteboard sticker starting with one edge. The sticker is not permanent so don't worry too much about getting it perfect.

Step 8. Remove the air bubbles

Wrap the dust cloth around the plastic card and remove all of the air bubbles. If the whiteboard is not aligned correctly, carefully remove and reapply.

This is actually my second time making this. I was so happy with the result the first time that I decided to do a DIY guide and share it with everyone.
